We offer Music Theory courses in a group setting for AMEB Grades 1, 2 and 3. You can participate in theory courses in our Burleigh studio or from the comfort of your home via Zoom.
Theory sessions have been created to take the pressure off teachers (and students!) by trying to incorporate this into your regular instrumental lesson. This allows you to focus on your instrument in your regular lesson and then focus on theory at a separate time during the week. The group setting is cost-effective for parents and more enjoyable for students!
During the term, you will cover content relevant to completing the theory exam for that level. At the end of the term, your teacher will complete a comprehensive assessment and advise whether you are ready to undertake the official exam.
You do not need to be a QAM member to enrol in a theory course, however, please note that discount applies for those that have paid a QAM annual enrolment fee.
Theory course fees are:
Grades 1 and 2 – $150 per term ($100 for QAM members) – 30 min session per week
Grade 3 – $200 per term ($150 for QAM members) – 45 min session per week
